Details of our trip

We thought that some of you may want to go to Jamaica, especially after following our journey and getting to see all the fun stuff we did over there. When we decided on what we wanted to see while in Jamaica, nothing was going to stop us. Some of the destinations and attractions are far away from each other, so we had to choose the ones we wanted to visit the most. We narrowed it down to Dunn's River Falls because of their rafting and beautiful water falls, the Bob Marley museum and Montego Bay.

We decided to mainly stay in Kingston, so we would get the chance to experience the Jamaican city life and participate to their celebration of the Independence day 6. August. After a while, we are heading to the other side of the island to Montego Bay. We have planned some of the days, however, we have decided to just go with the flow! We have several things we want to do, and will use them as guidelines. Travelling around Jamaica is quite easy with the bus, therefore we are open for changes. Our flight to and from Jamaica will be expensive, both in money and time, but we think it will be worth it. The total cost of plane tickets, to Jamaica and back home for each of us will become almost 10 000 NOK. The decision to go to Jamaica was made over a year ago, before we knew that it would take almost 30 hours each way! However, we have had a year to save money, so hopefully we will have enough.

Whilst in Kingston we are going to live at Natureview Castle B&B for eight nights. The price will be almost 11 000 NOK, for two bedrooms, shared bathroom and kitchen. Which means we have to make our own food, anyways we are hoping to taste a lot of Jamaican food. It will be expensive, so we have a food budget of 350 NOK per person each day. Of course we are going to treat ourselves some (most of the) days. When visiting Dunn's River Falls, we are joining a tour which includes snorkeling and cruise, with departure from Montego Bay. This will not be very expensive, it is actually only around 800 NOK for each of us. It is all inclusive, so we are looking forward to it! In Montego Bay we are going to stay at Toby's Resort, ten nights, and it will cost us around 16 000 NOK, depending on whether we are going to order room service or not.

Plane tickets cost 9 364 NOK per person, which leaves our transport budget with 636 NOK to use on public transport. We have a larger post called Extra, which we may use to pay for different things popping up throughout the trip.
